Associate Professor in modern and contemporary dance
Andreas started his dance education at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg (Sweden) and completed his training as a scholarship student both at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and The Merce Cunningham School. In his professional dance career, he has been employed and toured internationally with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Alberta Ballet and Murray Louis and Nikolai Dance. He has performed works by several distinguished choreographers and danced a varied repertory of classical, and contemporary dance such as Fredrick Aston, George Balanchine, Birgit Cullberg, John Butler, Martha Graham, Alwin Nikolai, Murray Louis, Pearl Lang, Mark Morris, Graeme Murphy and Donald Byrd. Andreas has previously been employed by the University of Stavanger and has been a guest teacher and choreographer at the Arts Academy Turku, Exploration of Music and Dance, Bagamoyo College of Arts, Proda, Bårdar Academy, The Norwegian National Ballet School, Makere University Kampala, Ballet Builders New York, St. Bards Dance Festival and Zanzibar Arts festival.
