Assistant Professor in classical ballet
Grete Nerdrum was a student of Jorunn and Even Kirkenær since she was 6 years old. She was a member of the Jorunn Kirkenær youth company at age 12 and danced for several years in many performances,TV-programs and tours in Norway. She was a soloist in Reisen til Julestjernen and the King‘s Heart at the National Theatre, and as a soloist in TV productions of - Carmina Burana and Snow White. She has also studied at The Legat School in England, taken courses and seminars in Germany and studied at the Centre de Danse Classique with Rosella Hightower in Cannes on summer for10 years. Grete was a permanent dancer at The Norwegian Opera Ballet (now the National Ballet ) from 1965 to 1988 and participated in almost all the events there during those 23 years, among others the stepsister in Cinderella, in addition to numerous tours in Europe and America. Grete has a degree in Education, and educational guidance from the Norwegian College of Dance and was permanently employed as a teacher in classical ballet at the College in 1988. She has for 25 years played a key role in the development of the discipline in the school. In addition, Grete has been examiner for the classical ballet bar at KHiO . Since 1988, she has run her own ballet school at Abilsdø in Oslo, where she teaches classical ballet repertoire for children aged 4 years through adolescents.
